[ Cisco's hanging out in the mezzanine area watching Rethe DJ when she spots Joshua LaRue walk in -- crimson suit, all cleaned up, and looking much older ( or better, more his age ) than he did when she'd taken him aside to talk strategy at Quiapo Station.
The kid looks good, and she smiles, lifting her drink to her lips as she notes the appreciative looks discreetly sent his way. Josh doesn't seem to notice though, he's talking to the girl at the bar and ordering a drink, if him passing over his universal credit card is any indication.
It brings back memories of fifty years ago, though she had never been that green when it came to learning how to spend her money. She'd glad though, and that's what anyone looking her way will see: Cisco smiling, pleased. ]

[ She smiles and leans back, settling against his side, eyes still watching the young Sin-Eater purchase his own drink ( Corona, with a slice of lemon for added taste; simple, but not boring, hm ) before turning to face the crowd, back against the bar. ]
Just enjoying the view. [ She turns to look at Cen then, and gives him a soft peck on the cheek. ]

[ And she is so very used to cracks like that.
This is a hand wandering over to pinch that one tender spot by his ribcage. ]
That's Joshua LaRue. The Sin-Eater from San Diego.
[ Infamous now among the more gossipy ones among the three blades. Because Hikaru. ] You can't see them from here, but he's got a ring on each pinky finger in the shape of snakes. [ There's a bit of emphasis on that last word. ]

[ She's not preening. She's not. ]
Yup. The ones from Quiapo. [ Curling up beside him now, just because. ] I like them. And not just because one of them is Neeka's grandkid.
[ Her voice softens. ] They give a shit about him.
[ No need to elaborate on who she means. Cen would know. ]

[ Watching him as he says that, and smiling all the while before she slides her gaze back to the boy at the bar. ] They're good kids. [ And then she remembers that two of the Hounds aren't actually kids -- she's just older, by a lot. ]
Well. Good people.
[ The set's changing now, she can hear it in the way Rethe's mix is doing that seamless transition from his style to a hint of what Selene can do. She shuts her eyes a little, lets the sound move around and through her and bobs her head a little as Tala's sister takes her place at the booth.
When she looks again, she sights Rethe wandering over to the bar.
And Josh sliding over the bottle. ] Huh.

[ She's watching the exchange between the two boys with critical interest.
( Yes, boys. Even if Rethe is a Malice King that she's known for years, he's still so much more a boy than a man sometimes, and it doesn't help that both he and the young Mr. LaRue look a little younger than her own two kits. )
She's spoken to the Sin-Eater, and has some reassurance that Josh isn't like the overenthusiastic fans that don't know the meaning of back off until they have the (un)fortunate experience of dealing with her husband.
There's a bit of back and forth between the two -- Josh's movements unassuming and fairly reserved, Rethe's own hesitant, until a few more words are traded and the angel finally relaxes, hands going for the offered bottle, the can of coke and the glass of ice set on the counter. They carry on after that, idle chatter until Josh looks forward towards the DJ booth again, a look of stunned surprise followed by utter awe -- to which Rethe just beams.
That's when she lets the smile creep back onto her features, a hand gently patting Cen's knee in reassurance. ] Nah, I think we can leave them to bond.
[ The two look like they're enjoying themselves -- if no one was the wiser, they could almost pass for a couple of kids hanging out in one of Makati's finest clubs. Almost. That crimson suit could be considered a flag of some sort. ]
Besides, [ spoken softly, ] it's nice to see someone finally taking on Rethe as a friend.

You make it sound like we never get to sit around and just enjoy. [ Leaning back against him, and making herself a comfortable place by his side, one hand reaching to thread her fingers through his.
Granted, the last few weeks have been surprisingly busy. ]

Well, babe. It kind of comes with the job description. [ Reaching up now to brush his hair out of his eyes and not missing at all, the look of alertness in them.
She glances over at that, follows his line of sight to where Rethe and Josh are much closer to each other now, in order for their conversation to continue over the rise in sound from the speakers. It's not as bad, up here.
Back to Cen. ] Hey, handsome. You okay?

25 May : About that Shore Leave | i just wanted to okok ._.

[ Foxtrot had just crossed into Serbia when the call had come through Alan's phone that her twin needed to speak to her, the Speedster calling over to where she and Joachim were helping Nick unhitch The Hearse from his bike, because their sleeping beauty of a vampire was the Maeran's personal charge, never mind that he was practically the baby of the squad and Tatjana was older than their chosen conspiracy.
Stall whatever you guys are doing, we're having a family meeting, Renae had told her then, before switching his end of the line to speakerphone so that she could hear bits and snatches of the conversation that their parents were having.
She'd lifted a hand towards her squad at that, had given her group the signal to cool their heels while she walked off and listened to her mother finally break the news that a challenge had been issued to The Living Land of the Searing Wind of Zangyaku. By the time Maggie wandered back, the others had eaten and Chie was playing out a quiet little tune on her harmonica, eyes watchful of her squad leader's approach.
It's been three weeks since then and tonight, Margaret Montelibano-Profaci is finally back in Falner, electing to take her first shore leave in what her mother will likely say has been nearly forever ( she would be right, home for Maggie is more people than a place -- and it's not that she doesn't love Falner, but she does more good out on the road. )
She rides through the gates, leaving the beauty of France behind her to zip through familiar streets, one last parting shot to Alan to take point for her and report in.
She doesn't make for the West District, her bike coming to a deliberate stop behind Haven, which she enters without so much as a by your leave, dressed in her full Midnight Rider gear.
She spots her mark talking to one of the people manning the bar, older now, some gray in his hair, but the smile on his lips and in his eyes still very much the same. When she parks herself on the far side of the bar, she holds her universal credit card out to the member of the staff that asks if she's ordering something. ] Give me whatever the boss is having.
[ Hi, Dad, your little angel's home. ]

[ Okay, maybe there are benefits to actually coming home once in a while. Like her dad, and her mom -- Renae doesn't really count. They check in as often as they can with each other and when she can't, Alan does it for her.
This is her wandering over then, top row of teeth on her lower lip as she reverts to her usual 'I'm the Alpha's daughter' grin while she wraps her arms around Cen's torso. ] Daaaaaddyyyyy.
[ And of course, pressing her face into his chest to inhale his familiar scent: father, wolf. ] Busy night?
[ Craning her neck out as well, scanning the area with squinty eyes before spotting her mother chatting away with some people she doesn't recognize.
Second target sighted -- but she'll get to that later
Angel eyes back at you, Mr. Profaci. ] One drink? [ Pleeeeease? Pretty please? ] To celebrate the return of your conquering princess?

[ She loves it when he does that. Shuts her eyes because little gestures like this weren't possible a few decades ago. ]
You're such a dad.
[ Sliding a look over now to the boys again--
--and then pausing. Because.
No.
Cisco stands up abruptly, because they might be too far to hear but her vision is perfect even in this kind of dim setting.
And down below, Joshua LaRue and Rethe are smiling at each other, body language comfortable -- maybe a little too comfortable. ]

Yes, now.
[ And already moving to the stairs, one hand on the rail, secure in the knowledge that Cen will be right behind her. Then slowing as she sees it happen: Josh leaning in and then both boys breaking apart, the awkward exchange that ends with the Sin-Eater fleeing the club.
Her hand reaching back now for Cen, because what do?? ]

On it. [ A helpless look at her husband before she makes a move to go, turning back once to say: ] Do what you have to do. I'm rather fond of that kid.
[ Going now, for real, and weaving her way through the crowd towards Rethe. ]
